The Altar Servers assist the clergy on all occasion including Saturday and Sunday Masses. Our importance is that every Altar server learns to be good child and follows the path of our Patron, Saint John Berchmans. We have 11 Altar Servers at present.

The Altar Servers meeting is held on every Sunday after the 10.30 AM mass except on first Sunday of the month. The meeting commences with a prayer conducted by the Altar Servers. During the meeting the responsibilities are shared and given to all so that everyone gets a chance to take part in the liturgy.

The various tasks of Altar Servers include leading liturgical procession, assisting with the missal the book of prayers, helping set the Altar and attending to sacred vessels after communion.

In addition to contributing their support to the liturgical celebration, Altar servers develop certain qualities through their service.

  • Responsibility: Altar Servers must memorize the mass and commit to a regular schedule of service.
  • Punctuality.
  • Attentiveness
  • Poise
  • Maturity.
