Catechism is a unique feature of the Church from ages. They aim at initiating a young faithful into the fear and love of God and the teachings of the church.
Teachers getting associated with this mission were as old as the Church itself. Since every local church is called upon to continue this faith formation mission, this day was celebrated as the day of catechism teachers honouring their patron saint – Saint Charles Boromeo.
St Charles Boromeo was an archbishop of Milan in Italy in the year 1538 and was a close associate of St Ignatius Loyola. He strived to unify the church by emphasising on faith formation and initiating the young faithful into the faith and Church. He worked as a unique missionary of catechism and November 04 every year is celebrated as his feast day.
Our catechism teachers today were honoured , blessed and prayed for during the mass on Sunday, November 05, 2023.
The entire parish community appreciates the services of our dedicated catechism teachers and wishes them a happy feast of their patron saint – St Charles Boromeo.
