Date: Sunday, 15th June 2025.
Report: Anita Mathias, Coordinator, Commission of Family.
Under the patronage of the Family commission, our Parish Celebrated Father’s Day on honoring the invaluable role of fathers and father figures in our lives. Celebration on the feast of Trinity Sunday, which celebrates the Christian doctrine of Trinity, the three persons of God : The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Pascal Menezes on Sunday, 15th June at 8.00 am. Around 100 Fathers were present during the mass, and the whole liturgy was conducted by themselves. Fr. Pascal, in his homily, narrated the important role the Father plays in the upbringing of the Family. There are two types of Fathers, happy and sad* but the sad fathers never show up and do their role silently. They talk less but listen to the family grieving and acting spontaneously without expecting any appreciation. They are the pillar and backbone of their family and wished all of them and told us to respect them. At the end, Rev. Fr. Jerome Monteiro, our Parish Priest, wished all the Fathers “a happy Father’s Day”, those who are present and those who are not able to attend due to their health and work commitments locally and abroad. At the end, we took a group photo of all the Fathers along with members of the Family Commission.
The celebration was not just an event-it was reminder of the profound impact fathers have on our lives. We thank all the fathers and father figures who joined us and made the day extra special with their presence.
