On 15-08-2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, YCS students visited and celebrated Elders’ Day at Jeevan Asha Old Age Home.Shirva Our parish priest, Fr. Jerome Monteiro, catechism co-ordinator Mrs. Violet lobo along with Catholic Sabha and ICYM members of the Pernal Unit, were present for the program.
The celebration began with a prayer song, followed by a meaningful message from Fr. Jerome Monteiro on how we should respect and care for our elders. Afterwards, all members from Pernal parish introduced themselves, and YCS and ICYM members conducted a short ice-breaking session, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
As part of the entertainment session, ICYM and YCS members organized fun games and awarded prizes to the winners. YCS students sang a wishing song for the elders. Some residents of the old age home showed their talents by singing and dancing, while others expressed how much they enjoyed the program.
Mr. Richard Barboza, the owner of Jeevan Asha Old Age Home, shared his thoughts and expressed his gratitude to all YCS and ICYM members for their efforts. The program ended on a lively note with everyone joining in for the Baila dance.
The event was beautifully coordinated — Emcee duties were handled by Joswin Aranha, the welcome address was given by Jenisia Castelino, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Alvina Nazareth. Snacks, juice, and fruits were distributed to all, making the day complete with joy, love, and togetherness.
