Christmas Celebration at our Church

The Christmas service commenced in at our church on Friday, 24 December 2021 at 7.00 pm with the singing of Carols. The Church Choir, rendered the Christmas Carols with melodious voice. 

The solemn Christmas Mass began at 7.30 pm with the procession to the Alter from the main entrance by Alter Boys, Servers, ICYM Members and priests. The Holy Mass was celebrated by the main celebrant Rev. Fr. Dr. Ronald Serrao, along with Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Jerome Monteiro, Resident Priest Rev.Fr. Pascal Menezes and Deacon Arnold Mathias.

Liturgy was conducted by the ICYM Members of our Church.

In his homily, Rev.Fr. Dr.Ronald Serrao highlighted the importance of the feast of Christmas and said that, the feast signifies three important aspects. That is, the feast of Christmas is the feast of light, feast of peace, contentment and unity, and the feast of humanity.

At the end of the mass, Rev.Fr. Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest of our Church, conveyed the greetings of Christmas to all the parishioners living in our parish as well as in other parts of India and abroad. He thanked the concelebrant priests, the choir and all those who had helped in the celebration of Christmas. 

As per the Request of Rev. Fr. Jerome Monteiro Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Ronald Serrao distributed the Candles for the donors and honored all the sponsors for the ongoing projects such as cemetery renovation, new projector, Main Open stage with two supporting stages, 14 stations of cross, generator etc etc. with flowers, decorated candles and an appreciation memento of our church. 

The veneration of the Baby Jesus was done by the devotees in a disciplined manner.  

The Christmas Crib assembled by the ICYM members is one of the main attractions of the Christmas celebration.  

Following the solemn Christmas Mass, parishioners were distributed plum cake donated by Union Bank Pernal and juice was served to all the devotees at the exit gate. Thereafter, the ICYM members conducted games, lucky dip draw, games and auctioned Christmas cake.
