Teachers day – 2026

Teaching is noblest profession and so a teacher said Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Parish Priest speaking on the occassion of Teachers day organised by the Parish Youth Comission on Sunday, September 27, 2026 after the morning mass in the church hall. Recollecting his own experience as a teacher and Principal Fr Gonsalves said his students have reached all over the world and have obtained great positions, though teachers remain where they are from the beginning; it’s a joy to see students climbing higher in life he explained.

Ms Lona Mendonca and Mr Anil Danthy spoke on behalf of the teachers and Mr Ashtan Dsouza, spoke aptly about teachers on behalf of ICYM. The ICYM and YCS students put up action songs and games for teachers and added colour to the program.

Mrs Leena Dsouza, Vice President of PPC, Mrs Cynthia Pinto, Secretary of PPC and Sr Jessy Joseph SSpS, Superior, Kripalaya Convent were present.

Mr Darren Andrade, President, ICYM organised the program with other members and Mr Anil Danthy and Mrs Jyothi Aranha guided the team as animators.

Morning Mass was offered for the intentions of teachers in the Parish, both active and retired.

Teachers were offered with teachers day gift and sumptuous breakfast.

In the beginning Mr Darren Andrade, President, ICYM welcomed and Mr Melroy Castelino proposed a vote of thanks.Master Nathan Fernandes compered the program. The celebration ended with the ICYM anthem.
