ACESTRA’25 – Badminton Tournament

The Badminton Club Pernal, founded by Fr. Pascal Menezes and Mr. Ronald Cutinha, has grown into a vibrant community with around 30 active members. The club continues to foster sportsmanship, unity, and a love for badminton among its members and the wider parish.

On September 7 and 8, 2025, the club successfully hosted its badminton tournament titled “ACESTRA’25.” The event commenced with the blessings of Fr. Jerome Monteiro, priest of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Pernal, marking the beginning of an exciting two-day competition.

The tournament was open to all parishioners of Pernal Church and the members of the Badminton Club. It welcomed participation from both men and women, across various age categories, in singles as well as doubles matches. This inclusiveness created a lively and competitive atmosphere, encouraging talent from different age groups to shine.

The matches were played in great spirit, with participants giving their best and showcasing impressive skills. Equally commendable was the effort of the club members, who worked hand in hand to ensure smooth organization and execution of the tournament. Their dedication and teamwork turned the event into a grand success.

Overall, ACESTRA’25 was more than just a sports competition, it was a celebration of community spirit, healthy competition, and togetherness. With this success, the Badminton Club Pernal looks forward to hosting many more such events in the future, continuing its journey of promoting sports and unity within the parish.
