Beginning of the year of Catechism – 2024

The feast of Corpus Christi also marked the beginning of the learning year of the catechism in the parish. The catechism teachers and students conducted the liturgy meaningfully in which the Holy Bible was honoured by exalting the same at the altar. The lamp was lit to mark the opening of the learning year of the catechism.

Learning catechism initiates all other learning said Fr Pascal Menezes in his homily. The body of Christ received with proper knowledge of the word of God fills a faithful with the life of Christ himself he stressed.

At the end of the mass Mrs Roselyn Gomes handed over her charge of being the head of catechism to Mrs Violet Lobo the new head of catechism of the parish.

Fr Rajesh D’Souza SVD and Fr Jerome Monteiro Parish Priest joined the concelebration. Fr Jerome wished all the best to the teachers and students and thanked Mrs Roselyn Gomes for her contribution to the people of Pernal as the head of catechism.
