Catechism Day Celebrated at our Church

Catechism day was celebrated at Our Lady of Fathima church, Pernal on 5th March 2023 .
The day began with the Way of cross lead by the teachers. Liturgy was conducted by catechism students during 8 o’clock mass. Eucharistic celebration was offered by Fr. Maxim Rosario, Estate Manager, Mangalore diocese, accompanied by Fr. Pascal Menezes, the resident priest. During the homily students enacted the parable of sower. After the mass, program was arranged for the students in the church hall.
Fr. Maxim Rosario was the guest of honor, Fr. Pascal Menezes presided over the program. Parish council Vice president Mr. Arun Dsouza and Secretary Mrs. Cynthia Pinto, Sr. Pauline, Superior, Kripalaya Convent, were present on the occasion.
Cultural programs were conducted by the students. Prizes were given to the top scorers in
Catechism examination and also for the students who attended catechism regularly. Rest of the students who appeared for the exams were given consolation prizes as the names were read out by Mrs. Violet Lobo and Savitha Mendonca. Teachers were given gifts as a token of gratitude.
Mrs. Diana Mendonca was the Master of ceremony.
Mrs. Shanthi Dsouza welcomed the gathering.
Mr. Anil Danthy introduced the chief guest, Fr. Maxim Rosario.
Vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Rosaline Gomes, Catechism co-ordinator of our parish.
The program was ended by thanking Lord Almighty for His blessings throughout the year and specially this day.
Though our Parish priest, Fr. Jerome Monteiro and Mrs. Leena Dsouza were unable to attend the program as they are on their trip to Holyland, they have assured their support and blessings.
