Celebration of the Lord’s resurrection – Easter Vigil.

The parish welcomed this night with joy and the bells rang with cheer to announce the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the king who reigns for ages and never to die again. The Easter Vigil was announced by blessing of the new fire and lighting the Easter candle to symbolises Jesus as the light of the world.

The song of grace of the Easter Vigil was solemnly sung by Rev Fr Pascal Menezes.

The readings from the old testament were ready to mark the Lord’s resurrection, the beginning of all that is living in the universe. The readings announced the majesty of the Lord’s resurrection and his coming as the saviour.

It’s a great joy for me to celebrate this easter with you Pernalites said very Rev Fr Roshan Menezes OFM Cap, from the Capuchin Friary, Trinity Vihar, Perampally , Udupi.

Our attitude should be of a Pharasee who believes in the resurrection. St Paul, though he is a Pharasee, Jesus appeared to him as a risen Christ. This incident transformed Saul as St.Paul he urged. Risen Christ who transformed Saul as Paul, would surely change us too he explained.

The water was blessed to be the Holy Water and all the faithful gathered renewed the baptismal vows.

Ms Hezel Rosita Castelino was felicitated at the end of the service for securing first rank in B.Sc – Digital Film Making from Jain University, Bangalore.

Ms Hazel is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Hilda Robert Castelino , Thotada Mane, Korage Ward, who secured First Rank in B.Sc- Digital Film Making.

Rev Fr Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest expressed his deep gratitude to Sr Pauline Periera SSpS superior and her team for their efforts in arranging the altar for the liturgy during the holy week. He also thanked altar servers, the choir and others for collaborating with him in putting things together.

Special prayers were offered for the donors and for the safe and speedy completion of the renovation work.
Fr Jerome Monteiro wished every parishioner in house and abroad happy easter and god’s blessings.
