Christmas Vigil – 2023

The God of light came when it was dark, he came alone, he came unknown and he came unprepared said Rev Fr Cyril Lobo, the Director for Biblical, liturgical and catechitical centre of the diocese of Udupi. He was preaching a dashing homily at the vigil mass of Christmas as it’s main celebrant.

Christianity began with the death of Jesus Christ, and it grew with Cross of Jesus Christ he added. Christmas is a time for giving, time to listen and time to sing the chorus to heavens he stressed. Listening to the inner voice and to the voice of the elders, parents and teachers is Christmas he narrated.

The foundation stone for the Church Renovation project is blessed and laid during this high mass.

Rev Fr Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest, rev Fr Pascal Menezes and Rev Fr Henry Mendonca SVD joined the concelebration.

Mr Arun D’Souza, Vice President of PPC, Mrs Cynthia Pinto, Secretary of PPC, Gurkars of wards, PPC members, finance committee members, and sr Pauline Periera SSpS superior of the convent were present.

The ICYM members put up a santa show and a small program for the people. Mr Alwyn Danthy, the president of the Church Renovation Commitee introduced the renovation project of the church and it’s necessity. He urged every parishioner to contribute generously to the renovation project.

Rev Fr Jerome Monteiro Parish Priest proposed vote of thanks and thanked every individual who added meaning to the celebration in their own way.
