A priest has triple responsibility that is prophetic, directing people towards holiness and forgiving sins, and more specifically celebrating Eucharist said very Rev. Dr Roshan D’Souza, the Chancellor and judicial vicar of the diocese of Udupi. He was preaching a multiphasic homily and he officiated the holy eucharist as it’s main celebrant. Praying for his people and being prayerful always is his prime feature. He should be ornamented with service mindedness and sacrifices of various ways he narrated on the life of a Priest.
The washing of the feet of twelve faithful was conducted to commemorate the very act of humility Jesus did on the last supper, calling every Christian to be at the service of others.
Fr Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest thanked everyone for putting up arrangements for the mass in the absence of a proper church as it is being dismantled for renovation. Fr Pascal Menezes joined the concelebration. The blessed sacrament has been laid and established on the altar of repose.
Choir sung hymns suiting the celebration under the leadership of Mrs Clara Mendonca and Mrs Lavina D’Souza. Mr Darren Andrade and Ms Jaslin Correa played on the accompanyments.
Members of the PPC, Sr Pauline Periera SSpS, Sr Janet Rego SSpS, Mrs Cynthia Pinto, Secretary of PPC, Mr Arun D’Souza Vice President of PPC, Mrs Flavia D’Souza, head of the ecclesiastical commissions and parishioners were present.
Special prayers were offered for peace in the world. All the donors and parishioners outside the Parish for reasons were grately remembered and prayed.
