Father’s Day Celebration held at our Church.

Father’s day celebration was held on 25^th August 2024 at 10.00am and lasted until 2.00pm. The special day started with Eucharistic Celebration at 10am. Mass was Celebrated by our Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Jerome Monterio as main celebrant and the co celebrant was Rev. Fr. Pascal Menezes. Rev.Fr. Pascal Menezes in his homily said the importance of Fathers in the family as well as in the society. Very well explained in between with Konkani Shahiri. The whole Liturgy was conducted by the Fathers of our Parish. After the Mass, Celebration was held at Church Hall. Mrs. Janeview Kavitha was the Chief Guest.

                Program be-ginned with the Prayer song sung by YCS members of Pernal Unit. Miss. Sweedal Mendonca accompanied honourable guests   to the main stage. Parish Priest Rev Fr. Jerome Monteiro, Resident Priest Rev. Fr. Pascal Menezes, Guest Priest Rev.Fr. Roshan Menezes, Chief Guest Kavitha Coutinho, Mrs. Cynthia Pinto Secretary PPC, 20 commission Coordinator Mrs. Flavia Dsouza, Mrs. Violet Lobo, Catechism Coordinator, Sr. Pauline Pereira YCS Animator of our Pernal Unit, to the stage.

                The Program was inaugurated by lighting of Oil lamp. Our honourable guest Mrs. Kavitha Coutinho delivered a marvelous speech about the importance and sacrifices of the Fathers towards their children and their families. Our Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jerome Monterio too delivered a meaning full message on this occasion. The students of 10^th and 12^th Board exam who scored above distinction were felicitated on this Father’s day celebration.  A memento was given to our Chief guest Mrs. Kavita Coutinho and the honour was done by Rev. Fr. Jerome Monterio. Sponsors who made this program successful were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Jerome Monteiro and Rev.Fr. Pascal Menezes and names were read by Sr. Pauline Pereira the YCS Animator.

                YCS Members of Pernal Unit organized some action songs and the whole Fathers were actively participated. Master Arwin Lobo and Miss Sweedal Mendonca organized some ice breaking games for the Fathers. Winners of the Games were awarded prizes by Mrs. Jyothi Aranha. Master Delvin Andrade class 8^th Student and Miss Edal Mendonca Class 9^th student expressed their feelings and gratitude about their Fathers. Mr. Ivan Nazareth spoke on behalf of all Fathers and expressed his sacrifices to his family by working at Gulf. A skit about “How a Father nurtures a child without a Mother” was performed by YCS and Catechism students of Pernal. At the end two Fathers given to express their feedback on Father’s Day Program. Mr. Albert Mathias and Mr. Lawrence Correa spoke on this occasion and given their feedback by thanking YCS team for organizing this wonderful event. A Marvelous Dance was performed by the students of Kripalaya Convent Pernal. Rev. Fr. Roshan offered prayer before the meals.

                Miss Lenora Mathias welcomed the gathering. Miss Riya Mendonca, Secretary of YCS Pernal Unit introduced the chief guest. Miss. Jenisia Castelino, Treasurer of YCS Pernal Unit proposed Vote of Thanks. Miss. Alvina Nazareth and Miss. Sweedal Mendonca compared the whole Program. At the end of the program the YCS/YSM Anthem was Sang.
