Our parish joyfully celebrated Grandparents Day on 26 July 2026 with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves. During his homily, he beautifully emphasized that grandparents are a precious gift from God, whose love, wisdom, prayers, and guidance continue to strengthen families and inspire future generations.
Following the Holy Mass, Mrs. Jyothi Aranha introduced two of the parish’s eldest members who were specially honored for their remarkable lives and inspiring presence in the community:
- Mr. Joseph Lobo (103 years) – St. Lawrence Ward
- Mrs. Theresa D’Souza (91 years) – Nithyadar Ward
They were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Parish Priest, along with Mr. Norbert Machado, Family Commission Coordinator.
As a token of love and gratitude, gifts were presented to all the elderly members of the parish in appreciation of their invaluable contribution to their families and the parish community. The celebration concluded with snacks and cold drinks served to everyone, providing an opportunity for fellowship and joyful interaction.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Mrs. Leena D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Council; Mrs. Cynthia Pinto, Parish Council Secretary; Mrs. Jyothi Aranha, Pastoral Commission Coordinator; and the members of the Family Commission, whose dedicated efforts made the celebration meaningful and memorable.
