Missionary Childhood Association

On the first Sunday of July the inauguration of Missionary Childhood Association for the current academic year took place at Our at our Lady of Fatima Church, Pernal. The newly appointed animator Sr. Pauline Pereira SSpS facilitated the session with 3 PU students of Kripalaya
Convent. Mrs. Violet Lobo and Mrs. Lona Mendonca helped to gather the children together and enjoyed the session. In all, sixteen children participated. The song, God’s love, was enacted. At the beginning of the meeting, briefly the foundation history of the association was reviewed. Each member received a handmade symbol of logo with the motto: Children helping Children. It looked like a lollypop and the children were fascinated.
As July 2 nd 2023 was observed as a Sunday for Prayer and for the expression of solidarity for the
suffering people in Manipur, the session was focused on the children of Manipur. The three
students from Kripalaya Convent, Binie, Yagum and Yallam from India Northeast dressed in their traditional clothing, gave a brief history and consequences of the violence in Manipur. They
highlighted the current situation of Manipur and its ill-effects on the children and the helpless condition of the victims.
The responsive participation of the children of the Parish was very encouraging. Sr. Pauline
facilitated the sharing on their possible response. Students suggested contributing with money, material goods and prayer. Sr. motivated the children to responsibly pray for the victims of Manipur. Through the action song Telephone to Jesus the students were motivated to trust God and pray for the children of Manipur during their family prayer and daily rosary. They were also
invited to share with their parents, today’s reflection and make possible contribution for the cause.
