Parish Day-2024. Inauguration of the Platinum Jubilee Year-1955-2025

When we pray the Rosary we celebrate the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ said Fr Alban D’Souza,
Rector, St Lawrence Basilica, Attur, Karkal, preaching an apt homily on the occasion of the parish day and titular feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the patron of the parish. God protects the world through the power of constant Rosary prayer,he exhorted. He was the main celebrant at the festive mass. Fr Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest and Fr Pascal Menezes joined the concelebration.

On this occasion the parish also opened the Platinum Jubilee (seventy years)of its establishment. All the gurkars lit a oil lamp to mark the opening of the jubilee year. Fr Alban D’Souza released the logo of the Platinum Jubilee.

The statue of Our Lady of Fatima was blessed and handed over to Fatima Ward to begin with. The statue would visit all the houses of the parish as a special program of the Platinum Jubilee.

Fr Alban D’Souza also released Fatimaso Thalo, the Parish bulletin on the occasion. The bulletin has been sponsored by Mr Rohan Noronha from the Korage Ward.

Fr Alban D’Souza was honoured on behalf of the parish as he celebrated his silver Jubilee of his ordination. Fr Alban D’Souza thanked the parish for the honour.

Fr Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest thanked fr Alban D’Souza for celebrating the mass and all responsible for arrangements.

Parish PPC members, finance committee members, Sr Pauline Periera SSpS, superior of the convent, Mrs Lydwin Noronha, mother of Rohan Noronha were present refreshments.
