Saude ward celebrated their Ward Day-Saud Utsav -2023

The people of Saud Ward gathered in Mr Valerian Jacintha Danthy’s house on Sunday the April 23, 2023 to honour Our Lady of Good Health the ward patroness. Mrs Janet Barboza, a renowned women activist from Mudarangady, was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion Mrs Janet stressed upon the Christian mission in the ward, that is to look beyond the boundaries of the ecclesiastical responsibilities, and go and step into the other man’s shoes to understand and identify the needy.

She further continued stressing upon the term needy means not only the basic needs, but the needs of the ears, heart and of self esteem.

Fr Pascal Menezes, the resident Priest spoke about the unity in the Ward and the style leadership that is needed to keep the ward vibrant.

Mrs Janet Barboza, Fr Pascal Menezes, Sr Pauline Periera S.Sp.S, Sr Rita Mendonca FMM, were honoured on this occasion.

Ms Francita Janish Mathias, and Ms Alvina Mathias were honoured for their achievement in the field of education, and Karate respectively.

The gurkars from other wards and heads of other ecclesiastical associations were honoured. Mrs Carmine Menezes welcomed the gathering and Mrs Marina Lobo thanked everyone for their collaboration to make the event successful. Ms Ancy Mendonca and Mr Daran Andrade compered the program.

Mr Arun D’Souza, president of PPC, Mrs Cynthia Pinto, Secretary of PPC, Mrs Flavia Dsouza, coordinator for ecclesiastical associations of the Parish, gurkars from other wards, and heads of the Apostolic Associations were present.

The guests were served with a sumptuous meal prepared by the ward people with the valued leadership of Mrs. Christine Danthy.
