Vespers and Chariot Procession.

The parish today had the Vespers – A celebration of the Word of God, a pre- festal celebration which marks the beginning of the bigger celebration.

Fr Arnold Mathias SDB, the assistant Parish Priest, St Joseph Church, Belman was the main celebrant. The chariot was blessed and a solemn procession was taken around the church compound.

Preaching a wonderful Homily Fr Arnold Mathias relevance of the presence of Mother Mary in the life of every Christian for bringing Jesus Christ to this world as the prince of peace. It was all possible for Mary to bring peace through her son as she herself was in peace with every station of the Cross abiding in the process of salvation. Praying Rosary will definitely bring peace he added.

Very Rev. Dr Leslie D’Souza, Vicar Forane of Shirva deanery, Fr Henry Mendonca SVD, Fr Francis Xavier Lewis, Fr Fredrick D’Souza, Fr Fred Mascarenhas, Rev Dr Prakash Anil Castelino and priests from the deanery and far wide were present.

Fr Jerome Monteiro, Parish Priest thanked everyone for the cooperation and support. He thanked all the priests and religious for attending the Vespers in large numbers. People of goodwill who sponsored various items necessary for the celebration were specifically thanked.

Fr Pascal Menezes joined by the choir and made the melody more meaningful.

The ICYM members had interesting games and fun items for the people. The church ground was full of stalls and shops and they enriched the festivities to another level.
