The formal inauguration of the Faith Formation Year 2026–27 was held today with great spiritual fervor and devotion. The ceremony marked the beginning of a new academic year of deepening spiritual roots for the children of the parish, bringing together priests, students, parents, teachers, and the parish leadership.
The inaugural event commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, which was concelebrated by Fr. Preetham Mendonca and our Parish Priest, Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves. During the liturgy, Fr. Ferdinand delivered an inspiring homily directed at the students and parents, sharing the profound message: “Living the life of faith makes life beautiful.” He emphasized that anchoring one’s life in faith guides families through challenges and fills everyday life with true meaning and grace.
As a significant highlight of the ceremony and a symbolic gesture of entering into a new year of learning, the Holy Bible and the faith formation textbooks were formally handed over to the teachers and students. This was followed by a unique initiative where the priests, parents, and parish council members joined hands to water plants. This gesture beautifully symbolized the shared responsibility of the community in nurturing and growing the faith of the younger generation.
The solemn occasion was graced by the core leadership of the parish, including Parish Council Vice President Mrs. Leena D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Cynthia Pinto, Pastoral Commission Coordinator Mrs. Jyothi Aranha, and Faith Formation Coordinator Mrs. Violet Lobo. The ceremony concluded with a spirit of renewed dedication, setting a blessed and purposeful tone for the faith formation year ahead.
